A1 Grand Prix of Nations 2006 - 2007

DURBAN

Overview:

The A1 Grand Prix race held on this circuit was racing's first return to South Africa since the 1993 South African Grand Prix.

Similar to the Circuit de Monaco, the Durban Street Circuit is heavilly constrained by the location of the streets, both in what shape the circuit takes, and where the grandstands can be placed. Despite this, seating for 22,000 was able to be constructed.

The inaugural race for A1 Grand Prix was a great success, watched by over 100,000 fans over the race weekend, who were not disappointed with the close action on this exciting and narrow circuit.
