AUSTRALIA

 

Fly To:

Melbourne 

 

Distance:

By car/taxi it's around 30 minutes to the circuit from the airport, and 20 minutes to downtown. 

 

Top Tips:

Recommend public transport in the city, especially the Trams. 

 

Trivia:

Parkland circuit close to the trendy area of St. Kilda 

 

 

MALAYSIA

 

Fly To:

Kuala Lumpur 

 

Distance:

Sepang is around 15 minutes from the airport, and there is also a high speed rail link from the airport to Putrajaya.  From the various hotels it's around 30 minutes by car to the track. 

 

Top Tips:

A hire car is essential. The night market is worth a visit. 

 

Trivia:

Why not combine with an island break, Malaysia has some stunning beaches! 

 
 


BAHRAIN

 

Fly To:

Bahrain 

 

Distance:

Approximately 30 minutes by car to Sakhir, and around 20 minutes to the circuit from Manama city.  

 

Top Tips:

Early booking of hotels recommended due to high demand, and car hire is essential. 

 

Trivia:

State of the art Team facilities & dramatic desert setting. 

 
 


SAN MARINO

 

Fly To:

Bologna 

 

Distance:

45 minutes to the circuit from Bologna, the hotels are spread out in the towns/villages so journey times from accommodations may vary. 

 

Top Tips:

Car hire is essential 

 

Trivia:

Great Pizzeria near the Paddock area. 

 
 


SPAIN

 

Fly To:

Barcelona

 

Distance:

30 minute drive to Catalunya, hotel distances vary. 

 

Top Tips:

There are some nice restaurants in the area, particularly "El Trubec" in Granollers.

 

Trivia:

Easy to drive in the area and it's good for getting in and out of the circuit.

 
  

MONACO

 

Fly To:

Nice 

 

Distance:

15 minutes by Heli Air Monaco helicopter transfer, or 30 minutes by car/taxi. 

 

Top Tips:

Train services are good. Be careful which side of Monte Carlo you are on, if you need to make a quick getaway after the race you may get trapped. If you are port side you can only catch a boat. The area is hilly and there are lifts to cut down on the hill walking! 

 

Trivia:

Stunning street circuit, best viewing points are Tabac/Casino Square.  Mobile networks tend to get jammed due to overload!

 
 

EUROPE

 

Fly To:

Cologne (Dusseldorf & Frankfurt are much further). 

 

Distance:

From Cologne it's a 1 hour drive to Nurburgring. 

 

Top Tips:

Car hire essential in this rural area.  German hotels appear not to be too hot on air-conditioning!

 

Trivia:

Schumacher fans would be excited to know that he grew up in a town called  Kerpen, not far from Cologne!

 
 


CANADA

 

Fly To:

Montreal Dorval 

 

Distance:

20 minutes by car to the circuit and downtown. 

 

Top Tips:

Good restaurants and nightlife.  The old Port is worth a visit. 

 

Trivia:

Heaven for food lovers, Montreal has diverse culinary delights, from traditional food, to Chinese and the Jean-Talon open-air market, the largest of its kind in North America.

 
 


USA

 

Fly To:

Chicago & Indianapolis 

 

Distance:

3 hour drive from Chicago, or about 20 minutes by car from Indy to the circuit and downtown. 

 

Top Tips:

Allow at least 3 hours to transfer in the US due to extra security. Also you will be required to clear customs at the first International gateway. 

 

Trivia:

The circuit used to be known as the "Brick Yard". 

 
 

 

FRANCE

 

Fly To:

Clermont Ferrand (direct by charter, or in-direct by scheduled airline), Paris & Lyon are also options. 

 

Distance:

Clermont is 1 hour by car to Magny Cours, Paris is 3 hours, Lyon is between 2-3 hours.  The hotels tend to be concentrated in Nevers and Moulins. 

 

Top Tips:

Car hire is essential in this remote rural area. 

 

Trivia:

This is the Sancerre region, why not try some wine tasting?  Look out for the magnificent chateaux houses in the region. 

 
 


GREAT BRITAIN

 

Fly To:

London Heathrow or Birmingham  

 

Distance:

Around 1 hour by car up the M40 or M1, and the circuit is signposted from both motorways. Silverstone is about 20 minutes from Northampton and Milton Keynes. 

 

Top Tips:

Car hire is essential, check the traffic reports as roads tend to be made one-way to assist with the flow of traffic. 

 

Trivia:

Challenging circuit for the drivers, and there are lots of quaint villages and historic towns for the fans.

 

  

GERMANY:

 

Fly To:

Frankfurt 

 

Distance:

45 minute drive to Hockenheim and around 20 minutes from the local villages like Speyer.  

 

Top Tips:

Car hire essential due to distances involved. 

 

Trivia:

Speyer is worth a visit, if you are staying there be aware of the early morning bell ringing!

 
 


HUNGARY:

 

Fly To:

Budapest 

 

Distance:

30 minutes by car to Hungaroring, and also 30 minutes from the city. 

 

Top Tips:

Car hire essential (we use a very reliable local company called Regina). It's worth doing a Danube/city tour.  Budapest is the world's only metropolis where there are more than 130 thermal springs and wells. Try the Gellert Baths, which boasts indoor/outdoor pools, hot & cold baths, steam rooms & saunas, as well as a range of massages & mud treatments.  

 

Trivia:

There are some great Hungarian restaurants.   Be aware of pick pockets operating in the city. Taxis ordered by phone are cheaper than hailed ones. Try star spotting at the Kempinski or the newly opened Four Seasons Gresham Palace.

 
 


BELGIUM:

 

Fly To:

Brussels or Eurotunnel  

 

Distance:

90 minute drive from the Belgian capital to Spa. 

 

Top Tips:

Car hire essential, remember to take a rain coat! 

 

Trivia:

Usually a favourite circuit with the F1 drivers. Located in the beautiful Ardennes forest.

 
 


ITALY:

 

Fly To:

Milan - Linate or Malpensa, or Bergamo (by charter) 

 

Distance:

Linate is 30 minutes drive to Monza, Malpensa is more like an hour.  Bergamo is also very close, around 30 minutes by car. 

 

Top Tips:

Car hire essential.  The Tifosi are very enthusiastic here, try and get out of the circuit in good time as gets chaotic post race! 

 

Trivia:

Great atmosphere.  If you have time why not try a visit to Lake Como. There are good restaurants in the region.

 
 


CHINA:

 

Fly To:

Shanghai Pudong International Airport 

 

Distance:

Depending on traffic it's an hour by car/chauffer to downtown and another half an hour to the circuit in the west near Hongqiao. 

 

Top Tips:

Do not drive unless you can speak Chinese! It may be possible to hire a car for the duration of the chinese visa, there is also a chauffer drive option we are investigating. 

 

Trivia:

Has the reputation of the New York of the Far East, with Jazz bars all over the city.  An incredible place with lots to keep you amused!

 
 


JAPAN:

 

Fly To:

Osaka, Nagoya or Tokyo 

 

Distance:

The transfer to Suzuka is around 3 hours from Osaka, and an hour from Nagoya.  Tokyo (the electronics capital of the world) is worth a stay if you are flying through the city, and you can get the bullet train (or Shinkansen) from here. There are minibus transfers also from Yokkaichi to the circuit. 

 

Top Tips:

English is not widely spoken so use of a translator and or GPS in hired vehicles is recommended. 

 

Trivia:

Try a Tepinyaki restaurant, and of course the famous Sushi.

 
 


BRAZIL:

 

Fly To:

Sao Paulo 

 

Distance:

Interlagos is about an hour's drive, and from the Morumbi area of the city it's 20-30 minutes. 

 

Top Tips:

Car hire essential. There is a taxi rank outside the circuit which is usually in very high demand after the race!  It's a good idea not to wear jewellery/watches if this can be avoided as some areas are prone to theft. 

 

Trivia:

The region is known for its meat restaurants or Churrascarias, of note is the Fogo de Chao restaurant.  Ayrton Senna's Memorial is 30 minutes away from the circuit.  Afterwards why not take some time to explore this diverse and amazing country.
