About Us

London 2012 Olympic Games:

The next three years of preparations will prove to be key in the successful unfolding of the Games of the 30th Olympiad, due to be celebrated in London from 27 July to 12 August 2012.

London will become the first city to officially host the modern Olympic Games three times, having previously done so in 1908 and in 1948.

Travel Places will be using this time to plan our operation and the different aspects of our involvement in the Games to ensure that we offer a first class service to athletes, media, organisations, teams, spectators, home owners and supporter's clubs alike.

Our experience and committment in providing top quality travel arrangements for our clients is as strong as ever. We understand what it takes to be ahead of the field; having succeeded for the last thirty years as the leading sports team travel company in the UK.

With our background in Formula 1 motorsport, and involvement in more recent high profile sporting events, we have access to a pool of comprehensive knowledge and resources, but most importantly: a winning attitude.

Beijing 2008 Olympic Games:

Travel Places, like both the British Olympic and Paralympic teams have just experienced a successful Olympic and Paralympic Games in Beijing, Qingdao and Hong Kong. As well as handling the team not only to the three Olympic sites we also arranged travel to the various training camps in Macau, Osaka and Ceju Island.

As well as the team movement, Travel Places handled successfully the BBC and many of the leading UK media agencies, such as The Times, Telegraph, Getty Images, and the Press Association. Travel Places also handled exclusively the International Sailing Federation, moving all their technical delegates from around the world to Qingdao.

The final part of the Beijing Jigsaw was completed by the movement of over 200 family and friends of Paralympic athletes. With the majority based in the Novotel, all were supplied with event tickets in support of their family. It created a fantastic atmosphere as parents returning to the hotel with the flowers that their sons and daughters had passed to them after standing on the podium collecting their medals.

Beijing is behind us now, and the team responsible for handling the movement in excess of 2000 passengers will look back on a job well done.

Not to rest on one’s laurels 2012, which is just around the corner, offers many exciting opportunities and challenges, Travel Places have already got the ball rolling.
