The racing course at Fuji Speedway (nestled in the Eastern foothills of Mount Fuji) has been reborn as a 4,563m long, "Grade 1" international circuit. While maintaining its approximately 1.5km main straight, the key factor to ensure high-speed races, the latter part of the course now incorporates new advanced, technical corners. World-class safety features have also been included, such as enlarged runoff areas and improved road surfacing.
Mount Fuji is the highest mountain in Japan. It straddles the boundary of Shizuoka and Yamanashi prefectures just west of Tokyo, from where it can be seen on a clear day. It is located near the Pacific coast of central Honshu. Three small cities surround it, they are: Gotemba (East), Fuji-Yoshida (North) and Fujinomiya (Southwest).
The Japanese Grand Prix is an opportunity to ride on the famous "Shinkansen" Or bullet train. Many visitors choose to stopover in Tokyo either before or after the race for some techno shopping!
