Food & Wine:
 What a gourmet's heaven! The region is home to parmesan cheese, proscuitto di Parma (Parma ham), pasta con salsa bolognese, vitello alla bolognese (veal cutlets with Parma ham and cheese) and cotechino e zampone (pigs trotters stuffed with pork suasages).
Wines:
The vineyards of Emilia Romagna stretch over 60,000 hectares. Two thirds grow on the plain while the other third grows on the hills. Almost half the area produces white Trebbiano and red Sangiovese grapes. Other Wines from the region are Lambrusco,and Albana. It is certainly apparent that there is a rich food and wine culture in the region.
Restaurants:
In the Republic there are 50 eating places located in an area of only 60 square kilometers - which is some sort of a record. Firstly, San Marino hosts 'Euro Toque', the association of the most important European cooks such as Gianfranco Vissani and Gualtiero Marchesi.
 The wines are sold under the banner 'Consorzio Vini Tipici' and the best feature the 'Marchio ad Identifcazione d'Origine' guaranteed by the State of San Marino. Look out for Brugneto, Biancale, Moscato Spumante, Grilet and the Riserva of Titano. Liqueurs include the truffle flavored bitter Tilus and the herbal Duca di Gualdo.
As for the typical products, mention must be made of the Torta Titano and the Torta Tre Monti; the 'piadina' popular across Romagna; 'passatelli' a spaghetti like mixture of eggs, bread crumbs and parimigiano reggiano cheese; 'strozzapreti' pasta and a new dish called 'lasagnette' with lamb ragout and taleggio cheese.
Other dishes include thinly sliced raw beef with truffle, goose breast and juniper berries. As for dessert try creamy 'casatello', 'bustrengo' which is the traditional Christmas cake, and cheese custard.
