Rugby Tour With Pulborough RFC (May 2011)
After a very hectic couple of months escorting tours it was good to have some time back in the office to catch up with paperwork. I think I am finally getting too old to burn the candle at both ends - I have been informed that I am middle aged already, at the grand age of 31! I am disputing this fact though…
I spent Easter weekend back in my home town (Cardiff), with Pulborough RFC. For once it wasn’t raining in Wales; it was actually very sunny and hot – you could almost call it a tropical climate! The task of looking after 30 rugby boys was slightly daunting, especially as I was under the weather with a chest infection, but I have to say that they were a well behaved group (what goes on tour, stays on tour!) and I enjoyed every minute of it.
The rugby boys also had a great time; I received some great feedback:

Cardiff Trip & Skiing With John Hampden School (April 2011)
April so far has been a very busy month for Winning Tours. At the beginning of the month I escorted a number PE teachers and rugby coaches to Cardiff to show them all what accommodation and activities are on offer for groups within the city. The weekend was jointly organised and funded by the Cardiff Tourist Board, Cardiff and Co.
A great time was had by all, and they were all impressed by what Cardiff had to offer – we were lucky enough to take part in some white water rafting at the new Cardiff International White Water Centre, an open top bus tour, a Millennium Stadium tour and some time at The Museum of Welsh Life - St Fagan’s Folk Museum. By popular request I brought back Welsh Cakes for everyone in the office!!

Activities With Cambridge & Rosslyn Sevens (March 2011)
I am glad to say that it seems that spring has finally arrived. It was St David’s Day on the 1st March, which of course I celebrated being Welsh! The office was keen to embrace celebrations of another country's national day - my desk was populated with Daffodils as a surprise, and we all had ice creams in the office courtesy of the big boss!
Towards the end of March I attended Cambridge Sevens, where we sponsored the afternoon teas for the teachers and referees. It was a great way to meet new contacts at schools and to have a general chat about their tour requirements.
Our preferred kit supplier (Touchline Sports) were also a key sponsor at the event, so our Travel Places logo was printed on all the staff and winning teams' t-shirts – great publicity! The event also saw the launch of our new Winning Tours pop up stands, showcasing some of the great photos I have collected over previous events and tours that we as a department have worked on. I think my new nickname should be David Bailey, as our design team thought the photos I had given them to use were taken by a professional travel photographer.

13th World Scout Moot by Emily May Sanders (February 2011)
I hope everyone is well and enjoying 2011. The less said about the rugby last week the better, poor Wales - no need to worry the boys will be back on form on Saturday for their match against Scotland ! I was expected to wear a daffodil costume into the office on Monday as punishment for Wales loosing but luckily it was at the dry cleaners!
Everything is going well in the TP Office, we're all busy and keeping out of trouble! Within the Winning Tours Department there are a number of projects that we are working on and I will update you with this over the next few weeks.
We received some excellent feedback from the UK Scout Association last week, regarding their travel to Kenya last summer for the 13th World Scout Moot which I thought I would share with you. Receiving a letter in the post with good news like this always brings a smile to our face! Take a look at the Gallery to see what the Scouts got up to during their time in Kenya.

Introduction by Emily May Sanders (January 2011)
Happy New Year from Winning Tours and welcome to the first blog entry!! Winning Tours is entering the world of social media in style….
It is now coming up to two years since the Winning Tours Department at Travel Places evolved into the market of rugby and clubs & schools travel.
2010 was a busy year for the department and I was rewarded at the end of the year by a winter break in Kenya , having won a competition organised by the Kenya Tourist Board – definitely a perk of the job! Some of my photos can be seen in the Winning Tours Gallery.
