School Sports Tours to Africa

South Africa

Flying Time = approximately 12 hours

It’s no wonder that South Africa is a popular destination for touring groups of all ages. It is the world class wildlife watching, cosmopolitan cities like the great Johannesburg and Cape Town, stunning natural panoramas from Table Mountain National Park and vibrant cultures which makes the country appealing to almost every taste and budget. Within the space of a day, you can travel from the Winelands in the Western Cape to the vast open spaces of the Kalahari Desert; from Victoria and Albert Waterfront in Cape Town to isolated Zulu villages; from wildlife safari’s in Kruger National Park to the beautiful seascapes along the coast.  South Africa is the perfect destination which is thoroughly enjoyed by all. The combination of the minimal time difference (therefore hopefully no jetlag) and no language difficulties, as English is spoken widely throughout the country, as well as the cost of living and excellent sporting facilities makes it the ideal touring destination for everyone!

Sports – Cricket, Hockey, Netball, Football, Rugby League, Rugby Union, Basketball

Kenya

Flight Time = approximately 8 hours

No other country on earth can offer the visitor as much to see and do. Within the borders of a single country, you will find savannahs rich with big game, timeless cultures unchanged by the modern world, pristine beaches and coral reef, equatorial forests and mighty snow-capped mountains, searing deserts and cool highland retreats and endless opportunities for adventure, discovery, relaxation; more than you would ever expect.

Dubbed the safari capital of the world Nairobi is a city of contrasts. Whether the group begins or ends their tour in Nairobi there's plenty to see and do such as Nairobi City Tour, Nairobi National Park, Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, Karen Blixen Museum plus much more.

Travelling further afield the group can travel on the overnight train to the beach resort of Mombassa, passing through Tsavo National Park with a view of Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance. The group can also witness the ‘Big 5’ in their natural habitat in the Masai Mara whilst on safari or take part in a local community project.

Namibia

Namibia is a wonderful place to play sport and experience a different African culture.  Teams arrive in Windhoek, the capital, where you will play your first fixture(s) before heading off to the famous sand dunes located in Sossusvlei.  Adventure activities here include quad-biking or sandboarding which are coordinated by a qualified instructor.  The coastal region of Swakopmund gives groups the opportunity to observe the seals during a boat trip. Etosha National Park situated in the north is one of the worlds finest game parks and well worth a visit if time allows.

Sports – Cricket, Hockey, Netball, Rugby Union, Football
