Schools & Clubs Rugby ToursRugby has established itself as a very popular sport for both spectators and participants, since its origins began in the early 19th Century in England. The first rugby international took place in 1871, played between England and Scotland and by 1881 both Ireland and Wales had representative teams as well. In 1883 the first international competition, the Home Nations Championship (which is now known as the Six Nations Championship) had begun. Today Rugby is a truly global sport and with it’s inclusion in the Olympics from 2016 onwards it is only going to enhance the sports profile further.
